Gov. Baker Ending All Remaining COVID Restrictions On May 29

Gov. Charlie Baker announced mask mandate changes today Monday May 17, 2021 that will be starting on May 29. Every industry will still be encouraged to follow CDC guidance on cleaning protocols. But capacity limits, social distance restrictions and other covid restrictions will be lifted. Massachusetts will be the last New England state to align with the current CDC mask guidance.

But dont throw way your masks yet, they will still be part of every day life for a while.

Face coverings will still be mandatory for:

  • People using public and private transportation, including rideshares, transportation stations, MBTA, ferries, taxies, and Commuter Rail.

  • Healthcare facilities and in other places where there are vulnerable people.

  • Indoors for students and staff at K-12 schools and early education providers.

On June 15, Baker will end the State of Emergency in Massachusetts.

As always updates are always happening and be sure you check your local city town or establishment rules. If asked to wear a mask just wear one. We will get though this soon.
